East North Interconnection Company Limited is a first-of-its-kind Mega Independent Power Transmission Project awarded in India. It is a special purpose vehicle promoted by Sterlite Power Grid Ventures Limited (Sterlite Grid), a subsidiary of Sterlite Power Transmission Limited (Sterlite Power).
In a short span of time, Sterlite Grid has emerged as one of the largest private operators of independent power transmission systems in India. With a capital commitment of $1.5 billion, Sterlite Grid has a large portfolio of 10 projects consisting of 31 Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission lines, 7 substations with over 7,000 circuit kilometres and 25,000 MVA transformation capacity spanning 15 states. This includes four operational projects with 3,250 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and two substations.
In the meantime, Sterlite Power has established itself as a global transmission solutions, products and services provider. Driven by the vision of empowering humanity by addressing the toughest challenges of energy delivery, Sterlite Power is enabling and building transmission networks. Within a short period of time, it has excelled consistently in the Indian power transmission sector by introducing robust and latest technologies.
Both Sterlite Power & Sterlite Grid are committed to harnessing the power of technology to revolutionise power transmission sector as is evident from some of the pioneering initiatives such as aerial surveys (LiDAR), heli-stringing, tower erection through heli-cranes and asset monitoring through unmanned aerial vehicles.
